Lykke Li forms supergroup and drops single under name LIV
It has been a while since we heard anything from Swedish pop star Lykke Li, most famous for her international hit ‘I Follow Rivers’. She dropped the album I Never Learn back in 2014 recently gave birth to her first child, but now she breaks the silence. We are not getting any new solo material anytime soon, but Lykke Li has teamed up with producer (and her partner) Jeff Bhasker, Miike Snow members Andrew Wyatt and Pontus Winnberg, and Björn Yttling of Peter Bjorn and John for the new supergroup LIV. They launched their first single ‘Wings of Love’ today and that sounds promising to say the least.

It is easily hearable that this group has been inspired by Fleetwood Mac as they deliver an updated version of the sound of this legendary band, bringing the 70s back to today. Lykke Li’s vocals sound as hypnotizing as ever and the chorus, that is mainly built on a catchy guitar rif, works wonders. ‘Wings of Love’ is an exceptionally well written tune (what do you expect when artists like these work together!?) with a beautiful melody that seamlessly evolves from verse into chorus and keeps soaring until the last second. Give us more LIV!

Update: Lykke Li created a stunning video for LIV’s ‘Wings of Love’, capturing the spirit of hippie culture and the freedom of the 70s.
