Swedish twins Say Lou Lou cover ‘Blue On Blue’ for fashion designer
What is it with fashion designers and brands and their love for Bobby Vinton songs? In 2012, Lana Del Rey recorded a cover of his song ‘Blue Velvet’ for an H&M commercial campaign. Now the Swedish-Australian twin sisters of Say Lou Lou bring their updated version of ‘Blue On Blue’ for the campaign of Swedish fashion brand Gina Tricot. It might be a coincidence or the move might be in inspired by Del Rey, either way, ‘Blue On Blue’ is a hell of a good cover!
Miranda and Elektra are on fire lately. They unleashed their stunning debut album Lucid Dreaming upon us in April and they presented their short film for ‘Nothing But A Heartbeat’ a day later. Now they keep themselves busy with festival performances and the release of ‘Blue On Blue’. As part of the ‘Say Blue’ campaign with the Swedish brand, they recorded ‘Blue On Blue’. They completely Say Lou Lou-ified the track by slowing it down a bit and turning it into one of their brilliant electronic, dream pop anthems. Their vocals are once again breathtaking and the harmonies are to die for. If this does not help to sell Gina Tricot’s clothes, I don’t know what will!
