Single Review: Kygo feat. Ella Henderson – Here For You

Kygo Ella Henderson Here For YOu

Kygo re-releases track with vocals by Ella Henderson
The star of Kygo has been rising rather quickly over the past two years. The Norwegian DJ and producer first made an impression in his home country and a few other countries in Europe with remixes of the outstanding electronic pop tracks ‘Younger’ by Seinabo Sey and ‘Cuth Your Teeth’ by Kyla La Grange. His big moment however was with the release of ‘Firestone’, a collaboration with Conrad Sewell. It reached the top 5 in countries like Norway, the Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Sweden and Finland. He was able to repeat the success with ‘Stole The Show’ featuring Parson James and now he has another hit to be ready to take over the charts with vocals by British pop star Ella Henderson.

Initially, ‘Here For You’ was an instrumental track that Kygo released in February 2015, but he now decided to push it as a single with help of Ella Henderson. The singer who had a number 1 hit with her solo single ‘Ghost’ last year, recently featured as vocalist on Sigma’s ‘Glitterball’ that reached the top of the British charts. This collaboration already showed that her voice is perfectly suitable for dancey features and she proves this again on the Kygo track. Actually, her vocals are the main thing that stand out about this, as the production with the bleeps and bells is your usual Kygo stuff. Although his output so far has been very sucessful and strong, he should think about shaking things up a bit rather sooner than later as it all starts to sound a bit too samey.

But for now Ella Henderson saves this single choice with her soothing and warm vocals that are perfect for the transition from summer to autumn. The vocal melody line is layed carefully over the already existing instrumental track and it just works in a pleasant and laidback sort of way. With the help of Ella Henderson, Kygo might be on to his first top 5 hit in the UK.

Update: The classy video for ‘Here For You’ is out!
