Single Review: Zara Larsson & MNEK – Never Forget You

Zara Larsson Mnek Never Forget You

Zara Larsson and MNEK join forces on future hit ‘Never Forget You’
She is a Swedish pop princess who already had two international hits with the tracks ‘Uncover’ and ‘Lush Life’ while she is still just 17 years old. He is a 20-years-old British producer, songwriter and singer who recorded the hit ‘Ready For Your Love’ with Gorgon City and produced for stars like Madonna, Little Mix and Kylie Minogue. They decided to join forces on a duet called ‘Never Forget You’, which will be released as the new single of both of them.

So, what do they sound like together? Well, like the future of pop music, actually! The song starts out with Zara’s verse which is melodically strong and gives room to show off those fine vocals of hers. Towards the chorus, the production becomes more electronic and afterwards follows a break down, slightly similar to Justin Bieber’s collaboration with Diplo and Skrillex, ‘Where Are Ü Now’. The chorus itself is catchy as hell and the middle eight has some delicious conversation singing with great vocals by both. This all makes for a perfect collaboration and I am quite sure international radio will eat this up. It comes at the right moment in their careers and will be another big step towards pop domination. If they promote it with some performances together, they should be able to launch it into the highest regions of the European charts.

Update: Zara and MNEK went to Iceland to record the video for their collaboration. We see beautiful shots the singers in the gorgeous Icelandic landscapes and it’s intertwined with a story of friendship between a big animal and a girl growing up. It beautifully tells the story of the track and it’s actually quite moving! Well done mister director Richard Paris Wilson!
