Single Review: Erik Hassle – Natural Born Lovers

Erik Hassle Natural Born Lovers

Erik Hassle recorded new single with producer Stargate
Swedish singer-songwriter and awesome pop star Erik Hassle has been working in the music industry for years and produced brilliant singles like ‘Hurtful’, ‘Are You Leaving’, ‘Stay’ and ‘Talk About It’. Earlier this year he returned to form with the release of the funky ‘No Words’. Oh, and in the meantime he also co-wrote Shakira and Rihanna’s star duet ‘Can’t Remember To Forget You’. Today he premiered another one of those delicious songs of himself, called ‘Natural Born Lovers’.

‘No Words’ sounded somewhat retro with the funky guitar and this time around Erik takes it back to the 80s with a swinging synths production. Vocally he shines like never before with a convincing falsetto in the chorus. “I wrote ‘Natural Born Lovers’ last year in LA in the Westlake studios in a Scandinavian orgy with my boy Daniel Ledinsky and Stargate. It was the first time I got to work with Stargate and it was a very nice couple of days”, he explained to The Fader. The production is exquisite and gives the song a similar vibe to the hugely successful ‘Can’t Feel My Face’ by The Weeknd. It has got the same swinging, Michael Jackson light soulful pop thing going on. Lyrically the song deals with “free love and a simple celebration of life” according to mister Hassle himself. I have to hand it to him, I have never heard someone ask to be set on fire in such a passionate and lively manner. This track should surely be able to give him a bigger audience, because all I can say is ‘Amen’ to that chorus!

Update: Erik’s ode to love now has a steamy video to go with it. We see a nice variety of couples in action in motel rooms while Erik himself dances at a gas station.
