Little Mix go to prom in video for ‘Love Me Like You’
The girls of Little Mix recently released their brand new single ‘Love Me Lik You’, the second track taken from upcoming third album Get Weird. Perrie, Jade, Leigh-Anne and Jesy won the British X Factor in 2011 and have been going strong ever since. After hits like ‘Wings’, ‘DNA’, ‘Move’ and more recently ‘Black Magic’, they are ready for the next big one with the all kinds of brilliant ‘Love Me Like You’. It’s retro, undeniably catchy, contains an earth shattering pop chorus and even in the case you don’t want to like it (why wouldn’t you, but just imagine) it’s too damn irresistible.

Little Mix do what the British band Stooshe did a few years ago. Bringing the girl bands from the 60s back in a modern day pop version. Thing is, Little Mix do it even better and ‘Love Me Like You’ is such a well written song with a perfect progression from verse, to pre-chorus to chorus with great hooks and lovely vocals. Especially Perrie impresses in the second pre-chorus and Jade sounds lovely using the higher register of her vocals.

Today the girls launched the video and it all happens at a typical American prom. They are all waiting for their date, but little do they know that their lover dated all of them at the same time. Of course the guy comes in last minute with another girl as his date, leaving the girls in pieces, portrayed in delicious overacting with lots of dramatic expressions. After the, in my eyes, nice, but quite bland ‘Black Magic’, Little Mix is back on track with one of the best songs of their career.
