Fleur East on to big things with debut single
Remember when Fleur East did not win the X Factor UK last year? She sailed through to the final without any major problems and ended up as runner-up while Ben Heanow took the crown. His debut single ‘Second Hand Heart’ with Kelly Clarkson is currently charting just outside the op 20. Now it is Fleur East’s turn to show us what she got. She will try to win the hearts of the UK people again (and maybe even worldwide) with the incredibly catchy single ‘Sax’, which to no surprise, features a whole lot of saxophone sounds!

During her time on the X Factor, East already had her first hit when her performance of Mark Ronson and Bruno classic ‘Uptown Funk’ became a huge success before the original had even taken off properly. This sound must have inspired her and her team to record ‘Sax’, which could be seen as the female answer to the track, but importantly, without feeling like a cheap rehash. Fleur has an outstanding voice and delivers the track with the right kind of attitude with a vocal style that almost sounds like rap in the verses. The production is funky and the instrumental (SAX!) chorus is one of the catchiest things I have heard in a long while. Fleur East might be pulling an ‘Ella Henderson’ here by not winning the X Factor, but having a huge international hit as next step. I think she can pull it off with this huge tune. If we want to hear her sing we better play that sax!
