Mike Will Made-It collaborates with Rihanna on new tune
It has been a great year for Rihanna so far. The singer launched her latest album ANTI to both critical and commercial success and the single ‘Work’ became a worldwide monster hit. She slayed the whole Billboard Music Awards show when she performed a faultless rendition of the fantastic album track (soon to be single hopefully) ‘Love On The Brain’. American hiphop producer hasn’t been doing too shoddy for himself either. He has produced numerous hiphop records and produced hits for Miley Cyrus (‘We Can’t Stop’) and BeyoncĂ© (‘Formation‘) for example. He teamed up with Rihanna on his new single ‘Nothing Is Promised’, taken from his opcoming debut album Ransom 2, to be released later this year.
You do not have to be a music genius to predict that Mike’s thick beats will go perfectly with Rihanna’s nonchalant vocal delivery and that is exactly what happens on ‘Nothing Is Promised’. The track would have been a perfect fit for Rihanna’s latest record and at the same time it is in line with what Mike Will Made-It produced before for other big pop stars. The best of both worlds really. The production is top notch and the chorus, although repetitive, is catchy without getting annoying. I am sure Rihanna’s current popularity will make this a hit and it will help to raise Mike Will Made-It’s profile even more. Bring on that debut album, man!
Oh and by the way, this is one of the best cover arts we have seen in a while. Stunning!
The track is currently only available via Apple Music, but you can listen to in full here.
