Dotter comes back with mystical new single
Dotter is the newest addition to a long list of insanely talented pop singer-songwriters from Scandinavia, and especially Sweden. The red haired artist impressed online last year when she launched the singles ‘My Flower’ and ‘Dive’. After a year of relative silence she is back on it again. Her brand new single is called ‘Creatures of the Sun’ and she does not disappoint. Might be her best work so far!
Dotter spoke about the meaning behind the song to Clash Music: “It’s interesting to think about all of the coincidences that led to us being here on earth. All of my ancestors before me have led to this moment. It could’ve been totally different. Whether you’re a human or an animal or a flower, every second in life we’re important to the earth. And when we die we go back to the earth.”
These interesting thoughts are translated into a perfectly fine piece of atmospheric pop with a mystical vibe. The song keeps the listeners at the edge of their seats with some interesting tempo changes, an infectious hook and a deliciously bombastic chorus. Dotter excels in the stunning middle eight where she showcases how versatile her voice really is. A little bit of Florence + the Machine, a dash of Kate Bush and a whole lot of Dotter make for an excellent new single!
