Song of the Day: Betty Who – I Love You Always Forever

Betty Who I Love You Always Forever

Betty Who covers one of her favourite tunes as new single
Betty Who is currently in the studio to finish her second album. Who, one of the most exciting new pop stars from Australia, released her debut album Take Me When You Go in 2014 and the single ‘Somebody Loves You’ created quite some online buzz. In the meantime she futured on the heartbreakingly beautiful duet with a powerful message ‘Heaven’, on Troye Sivan’s full length debut, but now she is back at it on her own. Earlier this month she released ‘I Love You Always Forever’ as a first taste from her second record, to be released later this year.

‘I Love You Always Forever’… that title sounds familiar, doesn’t it? Correct! It’s a cover of Donna Lewis’ 1996 hit with the same name. Quite a bold move to release a cover as the first song from a new album. Betty explains the choice to Popcrush: “I’ve always loved this song. It came out in my early childhood and embodies such a reminiscent feeling for me. I’ve been dying to cover it for a while now and have finally done it! I can’t wait to start singing it live and sharing one of my favorite songs of all time.” She definitely does this pop classic justice. Betty’s version sounds like 2016 synthpop and the overall vibe is somewhat more dreamy than the original. It fits her vocals perfectly and makes me excited for her new work! Stay tuned, we will definitely hear more this year!
