Fergie got some ‘milf money’ on new single
Can you believe it is already 10 years ago that Fergie released her first studio album called The Duchess? This year she will return with her second one, appropriately titled Double Dutchess. After hits like ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’ and ‘Fergalicious’ from 2006 (and of course countless ones as part of the Black Eyed Peas) she returned in 2014 with ‘L.A. Love (La La)’ that did not make an awful lot of impact. She is back to try again with ‘M.I.L.F. $’, but I highly doubt this will put her back in the spotlight as one of the world’s biggest pop stars.

Oh my, where to start. ‘M.I.L.F. $’ is a hot mess to say the least. The track starts out with a hyper active beat and a disappointing hook that actually turns out to be the chorus. We go from quick raps (which actually sound quite nice as Fergie has the attitude to pull them off), towards a short bridge and then again the annoying repitition of that uninspired ‘you got that, you got that milf money’ part hits. We finally hear her sing properly in the middle-eight which reminds us of the power of her voice, but also of the fact that it is a pity she hardly uses it in this single. The song has some nice moments, but overall it is way too messy and not at all memorable enough to stick. We would love to have her back, but with some better material please.

Update: Fair play to Fergie. The song is still horrendous, but she went all out with the video! A whole lot of milk, milfs and a cameo by the inevitable Kim Kardashian.
