RABBII launches haunting new single and video ‘New Friends’
Swedish duo RABBII have been working hard on new music over the past few years. The band (the name stands for Revolutions Are Best Before Initial Inception) managed to build quite some hype around their single ‘Chameleon’ and the accompanying visuals earlier this year. Now they are back with a brand new tune and it is called ‘New Friends’. It is all kinds of brilliant and so is the spooky and trippy video, directed by the band and Shora Dehnavi.
RABBII consists of Johanna Berglund and Felix Persson who both were part of the pop band Le Kid before. Nowadays, their sound and style are not as happy and colourful, but they still know how to create an insanely catchy melody. ‘New Friends’ is a haunting piece of electronic pop with a chorus that sticks after hearing it for the first time. Johanna’s high pitched vocals have a creepy quality on the track that deals with a longing back to the time she spent with a good friend. The beats are in your face and the video is freaky and trippy. What not to love? This is honestly one of the best choruses I have heard in a while and the whole vibe of the track, video and band feels unique. Keep an eye out on these two, because they are capable of creating some magic together!
Makes me think of times whe I was a “clubber”. Love this
