Always wondered what pop stars themselves listen to whenever they are not on stage or writing new music? It’s time to find out! Every week, A Bit of Pop Music will bring you Friday’s Five Tunes, a selection of five favourite songs by a current pop artist. This week Kiara Nelson tells us all about her current jams.
Kiara Nelson is a Finnish-Swedish-American singer. She is only 18 years old and currently operates from Helsinki and radio stations in her home country already started to pick up her fresh debut single ‘Cool My Rush’. She launched the track earlier this month and immediately proved she ticks all the boxes to become Scandinavia’s next big pop thing. In the meantime we asked her to tell us all about her five favourite tunes of the moment. She stressed how hard of a task we were laying before her as she loves so many different styles of music, but she agreed!
Topic feat. Nico Santos – Home
“I Love the lyrics of this song and Nico’s voice is absolute perfection. The way he sings this track feels so personal.”
Kungs – This Girl
“I have been listening to this all summer. Such a feel good song, I love it!”
Clairmont – Get Closer (feat. Maria Sobé)
“Some of my friends complain about the drop in the song, because they can’t understand what they are saying, but I really like that part. I love listening to ‘Get Closer’ with headphones mostly just to be completely in my zone!”
Ariana Grande – Leave Me Lonely (feat. Macy Gray
“I can’t get over Ari’s voice in this song. I get chills every single time I hear it although I’ve probably listened to it over 200 times.”
Clean Bandit feat. Louisa Johnson – Tears
“I am so obsessed with this track! I love Louisa’s vocals so much. I am sure she is going to go far in her career.”
Nick Jonas – Bacon
Yes, you are right. This is number six! But isn’t that against the rules? Oh who cares. We are serving you another great tune to enjoy your weekend and Kiara explained she is just as obsessed with this song as ‘Tears’, so we will let her get away with it!
We found out today that Kiara Nelson likes her tunes danceable! Luckily that is what she serves us herself with her very own single ‘Cool My Rush’ too!
