JoJo is unapologetic on new single featuring Wiz Khalifa
It has been a long shot (a very, very long shot) but JoJo has finally announced she will release another album. The pop star who had her first big hit with ‘Leave (Get Out)’ when she was just 13 years old, released her most recent album The High Road in 2006(!). On the 14th of October this year, after ten(!) years, we will finally get the follow up, called Mad Love. The pop star just released the first official single called ‘F*ck Apologies.’, which features some raps by Wiz Khalifa. She is back, ladies and gents!
Poor JoJo has been fighting with her label for years, but finally made a fresh start and released some new music last year. Three singles saw the light of day at the same time, showing she was still very much capable of dropping swinging dance pop tunes and heartbreaking ballads. With ‘F*ck Apologies.’ she steps up her game. This irresistibly catchy pop and R&B hybrid shows her sassy side without trying too hard. The production with the infectious guitar is fresh and breezy and delivers the message with attitude. Needless to say she serves the vocals convincingly from start to finish and although his intro is a bit cringey, Wiz Khalifa’s short but sweet rap over the middle eight definitely adds to the vibe of the track. The “f*ck apologies, I would say I’m sorry if I really meant it” parts are already stuck in my head and I’m loving it! Welcome back JoJo!
Update: JoJo dives into a swimming pool for the video of the track!
