Single Review: BANKS – Mind Games

BANKS The Altar

BANKS launches album pre-order with new tune ‘Mind Games’
There is officially no stopping BANKS. The American electronic pop star returned in July with her outspoken comeback single ‘F*ck With Myself’ and like it was no big deal, not even a month later she dropped the nothing short of brilliant pop banger ‘Gemini Feed’. Her second album The Altar will be released on the 30th of September and from today on it is possible to pre-order the record. To celebrate this, BANKS made the album track ‘Mind Games’ available for everyone who buys the album now. This track alone is worth it to order right now.

Where the two previously mentioned singles showed off BANKS’ poppy and swinging side, she returns to dark and moody electronica on ‘Mind Games’. The track opens with some vocal effects and continue with a piano verse where BANKS shows off the fragile side of her voice. The synths swell towards a chorus where she emotionally asks herself: ‘Do you see me now?’ The track breathes a similar vibe to the heartbreaking ‘Waiting Game’, one of the best songs she has ever written. She has a rare talent for drenching her vocals in emotions when she sings and she uses it to perfection on ‘Mind Games’. This album is going to be pure fire, isn’t it?
