Alicia Keys releases soundtrack for Queen of Katwe
While we are eagerly awaiting the new studio album by Alicia Keys, she dropped another single. The track ‘Back To Life’ is released as the official soundtrack for the upcoming movie Queen of Katwe, starring Lupita Nyong’o and David Oyelowo, about a young girl from Uganda who trains to become the next Chess World Champion. Keys delivered a moody piece with a huge build up to go with the film!

While in my book, Alicia Keys delivered one of the best singles of the year so far with the sultry and light electronic ‘In Common’, it did not really manage to set the charts on fire. The same goes for its follow up, the raw emotional ballad ‘Hallelujah’. That is probably why she did not announce an album release date yet. In the meantime we luckily can enjoy her gorgeous vocals on ‘Back To Life’. The track starts out slowly with a guitar rhythm carrying Alicia’s vocals, but halfway through, after some stunning humming, a light beat kicks in, which fastens its pace working its way to a finale. Alicia Keys sure is on fire this year and we need more!
