Years & Years release new single for Bridget Jones’s Baby Sountrack
The guys of Years & Years have new music for us. After the huge success of their debut album Communion, with hit singles ‘King’ and ‘Desire’, the band has been performing at festivals and touring from club to club for over a year. Now it is finally time for a brand new track called ‘Meteorite’, taken from the soundtrack for the brand new romantic comedy Bridget Jones’s Baby. Olly and his men can do no wrong and leave us craving for that sophomore record!

‘Meteorite’ was performed for the first time over the weekend during their set at Bestival. People who saw the premiere of the movie, which had Ellie Goulding’s ‘Still Falling For You’ as official soundtrack single, heard it over the end credits, but now it is finally available around the world. ‘Meteorite’ follows the same upbeat electronic pop vibe as their previous singles with an infectious melody. The build up is ace and the chorus has a funky quality, which might remind a bit of Daft Punk’s more recent work like ‘Get Lucky’. Olly’s distinctive vocals excel on this kind of track and the production is ace as usual. Lyrically it is pretty much what you would expect from a pop song with this title, including the hook ‘hit me like a meteorite’. This could definitely become a hit on the back of the probable success of the movie. Don’t leave us hanging for more new music too long, boys!

Update: the guys uploaded the official video, featuring Olly in a glittery outfit performing an expressive, Maddie Ziegler like choreography.
