London Grammar plans long awaited comeback on New Years Day
2017 sure is off to a good start in terms of pop music. British band London Grammar finally made a comeback and what better day to do so then on the 1st of January!? Just after midnight they dropped the video for the new track ‘Rooting For You’, taken from their upcoming sophomore album. It was about time! It is already over three years ago that they dropped their debut record If You Wait which brought us hits like ‘Strong’ and ‘Wasting My Young Years’.

London Grammar already performed some new music during their festival appearances in the summer of 2015, but now we finally get an official release. ‘Rooting For You’ is a slow burning song which starts out with just Hannah’s vocals. She makes her way through the first two minutes completely a cappella before an orchestra joins her. Her deep voice is still as mesmerizing as ever and the lyrics are just beautiful. ‘Rooting For You’ works perfectly as an introduction to a new era, but I would be surprised if they properly push it as a first single, as it does miss the big hooks to become a success on the radio. I can’t wait to hear what more London Grammar has in store for us this year.
