Martin Garrix collaborates with Dua Lipa on new single
It must be great to be Martin Garrix. The stars still align for the Dutch DJ and producer in his career. Also, recently, the stars seem to line up as well to work with him. After an internationally successful single ‘In The Name of Love’ with upcoming pop star Bebe Rexha, he now worked with British rising star Dua Lipa, who stormed the charts last year with hit singles like ‘Be The One’ and ‘Hotter Than Hell’. Needless to say ‘Scared To Be Lonely’ is a hit in the making.
While we are waiting for ages and ages until Dua Lipa finally drops her debut album (we did recently get the tracks ‘Thinking ‘Bout You‘ and ‘Room For 2‘), her team seems to have a strategy these days. After her collaboration ‘No Lie’ with Sean Paul, they now let her feature on the Martin Garrix single, that largely follows the successful sound of the Bebe Rexha track. The production is very contemporary and the chorus big and poppy. Of course a little instrumental drop has to follow. Lyrically however, the Dua Lipa track has a little more to offer. “Is the only reason you’re holding me tonight, cause we’re scared to be lonely?” she asks herself in the build up towards the sonic explosion. It is nothing groundbreaking, but it might help both their careers with another chart hit!
