Urban Cone brings back romance on new single ‘Old School’
It is almost two years ago that Urban Cone dropped their second album Polaroid Memories. The Swedish synthpop band had a pretty big year in 2015, releasing a collaboration with Tove Lo, while also joining her on an international club tour. After that busy period Rasmus, Tim, Emil and Jacob took a break to record some new music. The first taste of an upcoming third album is out now in the form of new single ‘Old School’. A fresh new direction for the guys!

On social media, the Urban Cone band members make clear they are more than proud of their brand new song. “We hope you love it as much as we do”, they tell their fans. Although the track is called ‘Old School’, it does not sound like it is coming from the past at all. They bring modern synth pop, slightly similar to bands like Bastille and OneRepublic, but at the same time a bit more electronic in terms of production. The rhythm of the super catchy chorus is funky and absolutely impossible not to swing along to.

Lyrically the boys are convincing a love interest that they are going to love them ‘old school’, meaning that romance and chivalry are certainly not dead. “She thinks that love is overrated. She said she’s heard it all before… Girl I can’t wait to prove you wrong”, they ensure. Hit worthy comeback guys!
