Ed Sheeran drops acoustic track to promote upcoming album release
Ed Sheeran might be more popular than ever. Over the past years his hit ‘Thinking Out Loud’ turned into an absolute classic and at the start of this year, he returned with not one but two brand new singles; ‘Castle on the Hill’ and ‘Shape Of You’. The only reason why ‘Castle On The Hill’ didn’t become a number 1 hit in most countries, was because ‘Shape Of You’ already occupied that spot. The unusual release strategy paid off as Sheeran has been dominating the international charts with both tracks over the past few weeks. On the 3rd of March he will finally drop his third album ÷ and today he released the acoustic track ‘How Would You Feel (Paean)’.
‘How Would You Feel (Paean)’ is a lot more stripped back in comparison to the bombastic singer-songwriter folk-pop of ‘Castle On The Hill’ and the contagious beats of ‘Shape Of You’, but the balance between these different sounds, makes Ed Sheeran the successful artist that he is today. The guitar and piano guided new track will no doubt strike a chord with a lot of fans. With a fragile vocal style he asks: “How would you feel if I told you I loved you?” Quite cute isn’t it!? He should have released this on Valentine’s Day. Anyway, only two more weeks to go until Sheeran will start to dominate the album charts as well!
