Mr. Probz unleashes potential hit ‘Until You’re Loved
Dutch recording artist Mr. Probz isn’t one to stick to one and the same genre throughout his career. On his debut album, released in 2013, he mainly focused on hiphop, but his big breakthrough came in 2014 with the single ‘Waves’ that could be best described as acoustic singer-songwriter pop. Producer and DJ Robin Schulz turned it into a dance track, at the same time creating a big international hit. Follow up ‘Nothing Really Matters’ was another soulful ballad while he also continued the dance path, collaborating with Armin van Buuren. Last year Probz made his comeback with the swinging soul tune ‘Fine Ass Mess’. Today he releases the new single ‘Till You’re Loved’ with yet another style!
To be fair, ‘Fine Ass Mess’ was quite a surprising single choice. Although the track is definitely catchy, it had some raw soul moments and didn’t seem to be tailor made for radio. For ‘Till You’re Loved’ however, it looks like Mr. Probz and his team have paid close attention to what sound is popular at the moment. The song follows a similar electronic pop style to what was made popular by artists like Major Lazer, Justin Bieber and MØ. There is nothing wrong with a bit of trend chasing though, especially not when it is executed convincingly. ‘Till You’re Loved’ is well produced and has an irresistibly groovy rhythm that makes it almost impossible not to bop along. Probz’ vocals are warm and soulful as always and the message of the lyrics is uplifting. Seems like we might be welcoming him back to the top of the charts soon.
