Adam Levine goes on a trip in new Maroon 5 video
This year Maroon 5 celebrates the 15th birthday of their debut album Songs About Jane. Over the years the sound of the American band lead by Adam Levine evolved quite a bit. Not every fan is happy with the more poppy and generic style that dictates their music these days. To be honest I lost interest in them over the past two albums, but most recently their tunes are just too infectious to ignore. After the success of the oh so catchy ‘I Don’t Wanna Know’ they now present the second single of their upcoming 6th album, ‘Cold’ featuring a rap by Future.
The pop track centers around Levine’s characteristic vocals, a cappella telling the story of a relationship turned sour during the verses. During the chorus an infectious beat kicks in to accompany him. Production wise it is all quite minimalistic, but certainly effective and still very radio friendly.
The band just launched the video for the track and the result is trippy to say the least. At the start of the video Levine is on his way to a party organized by Future. When he arrives and orders a drink, that drink gets spiked, causing him to see all sorts of things that aren’t really there. Like what? You are about to find out yourself. It has something to do with a teddy bear… A very entertaining watch!
