Friday’s Five with KEV

Always wondered what pop stars themselves listen to whenever they are not on stage or writing new music? It’s time to find out! Every week, A Bit of Pop Music will bring you Friday’s Five, a selection of five favourite songs by a current pop artist. This week we list the songs selected by KEV!

KEV is a four piece band from different parts of Sweden. The guys have created their own style of upbeat synth pop with soaring melodies and swinging instrumentation. They managed to create quite the buzz online with their single ‘Moments’ and they just released the Chapter X EP, showing off a unique and diverse sound. KEV consists of singer Kevin and producers Viktor, Victor and Sebastian. They all chose one track which has influenced them musically. “And because of Kevin’s big ego he choose two songs ;)”, the members add.

Kevin: Snakehips feat. Zayn – Cruel
“I love both artists so it was no surprise I fell in love with this track as well. The Snakehips production and ZAYN’s vocals truly make for a perfect combination.”

Viktor: M83 – OK Pal
“The retro elements of the track, the overall big sound and dreamy vocals all make for an amazing song.”

Victor: Daft Punk – Around The World
“Daft Punk’s ‘Around The World’ was the first electronic track that really made an impact on me, and I still love it.”

Sebastian: Axwell – Nothing But Love
“What Victor has with Daft Punk, I experienced with Axwell. It was the first electronic track I heard that influenced me, with the smooth vocals and driven synth. It was this track that made me start producing music.”

Kevin: Robyn – Dancing On My Own
“Robyn has influenced me a lot and inspired me in an artistic way. She always goes her own way and is constantly pushing herself musically.”
