Shakira focuses on Spanish languaged market with ‘Me Enamoré’
Shakira is not a frequent visitor to the highest regions of the charts in Western Europe anymore, but in large parts of Latin America, she still is on top of her game. Last year she dropped the single ‘Chantaje‘, featuring Maluma, which became a big hit in the Spanish speaking market. It seems that is what Shakira will keep on going for in the foreseeable future, as the follow up is another Spanish, reggaeton inspired anthem, titled ‘Me Enamoré’. And it’s a bop!
‘Me Enamoré’ is a fast paced tune with a light synth induced beat and a swinging reggaeton rhythm. The chorus is incredibly catchy with an uplifting melody and some seductive vocals. For large parts of the world where summer is just around the corner, this song comes exactly at the right time. It totally sounds like a Shakira track and it is great to hear her on her own again, after the collaborations with Maluma, Prince Royce and Carlos Vives. We will have to wait and see if she has got an English version of this song lined up as well, but either way it is her best shot at an international hit in quite a while.
