Tove Styrke returns with infectious new single ‘Say My Name’
Two years ago Tove Styrke released her highly underrated pop perfection sophomore album Kiddo and today we celebrate her glorious return! The Swedish pop starlet is ready for the next era in her career after an extensive tour and now drops the brand new single ‘Say My Name’, not to be confused with her earlier release ‘Call My Name’. The track is thought to be the lead single of her upcoming third studio album, but no details have been confirmed yet.
I can however confirm that Tove Styrke sure as hell did not lose her ear for catchy pop melodies in the meantime, as ‘Say My Name’ is a straight up ear worm. The guitar riff that is repeated throughout the production is just too damn infectious! Styrke herself sounds effortlessly cool as always with a laidback delivery of this modern day love song. In terms of sound it is not far away from the eclectic, but straightforward pop sound of the Kiddo record. ‘Say My Name’ could be best described as a slightly naughtier, looser and more fun version of Adele’s ‘Send My Love (To Your New Lover)’. What’s not to love about that!?
