Martin Garrix drops collaboration with Troye Sivan ‘There For You’
Dutch DJ and producer Martin Garrix is on a roll, collaborating with the most contemporary international pop stars. After the success of ‘In The Name of Love’ with Bebe Rexha and ‘Scared To Be Lonely’ with vocals by Dua Lipa, he drops another potential hit; ‘There For You’ featuring Australian singer-songwriter and pop star Troye Sivan! Sivan adds his flawless pop vocals to the successful EDM formula Garrix has been using for a while now.
Troye Sivan had his breakthrough as a pop star back in 2015 when he dropped the stunning album Blue Neighbourhood, full of well produced and honest electro pop. ‘There For You’ isn’t too far off from what his solo music sounds like, but it is easily the most generic and hit seeking release he put his name to so far. Vocally he shines and the lyrics about being there for people who need it (which he dedicates to his fans) are lovely, but I just wish the drop after the chorus wasn’t so predictable. Garrix has been producing in a similar style for his other big collaborations and this sound is still very much in fashion, but it might be time to move on soon in order to keep things fresh. ‘There For You’ is as predictable as could be, but Troye manages to give the tune a little extra with his vocal delivery. I am sure he will have more exciting things to deliver once he starts the campaign for his sophomore album though.
