Lana Del Rey works with A$AP Rocky on two new singles
If everything would have happened according to plan, Lana Del Rey’s new record Lust For Life would have seen the light of day in May, but as the American singer-songwriter still wasn’t fully content with her work, she and her team decided to push the release date to July. Lust For Life will be out on the 21st of this month, but to make the wait a bit more bearable, she treated us to not one but two new singles today, both collaborations with rapper A$AP Rocky. Lana fans who have been demanding more hip hop influences, should do a little jump of joy!

When Lana Del Rey first gained fame through her major label debut album Born To Die, many of her tracks were based on slick hip hop beats, but as her sound evolved on Ultraviolence and Honeymoon, this aspect of her music was pushed towards the background. For her two new singles however, she is back at it again with A$AP Rocky and Playboi Carti making an appearance. ‘Groupie Love’ is quite the traditional Lana Del Rey song with a beautiful soaring melody and lyrics about having to live with the popularity and fame of her partner. ‘Summer Bummer’ has got a similar hypnotic but summery vibe to ‘High By The Beach’. The vocal production is flawless and the raps flow well in both songs and never feel out of place in any way. Although the melodies aren’t as hit worthy as on the divine ‘Lust For Life’ featuring The Weeknd, the album is shaping up to be interesting to say the least, and probably her most diverse to date!
