Tove Lo randomly drops new track ‘Disco Tits’
UPDATED – Not even a year after the release of her sophomore studio album Lady Wood, Tove Lo is ready for something new. After touring the world and dropping the two short films Fairy Dust and more recently Fire Fade to promote the record, she is now ready for something new. From the release of Lady Wood on, there have been talks about a part 2 coming this year. After accidentally being dropped on Spotify in some parts of the world last week, ‘Disco Tits’ is now officially announced as a new single. It is not clear yet if it will lead into the previously talked about Lady Wood part 2, but rumour has it, it will be called Blue Lips and will see the light of day later this year.

We were all wondering what Tove Lo and her team were playing at with the release of a track like ‘Disco Tits’ and although a proper campaign seems to have started this time around, I’m still of the opinion it certainly isn’t Tove’s strongest work to date. If anything, she almost sounds like a parody of herself here. We know she likes to party, talks about getting high on most of her songs and likes to free her ‘disco tits’ at least once every show, but “I’m fully charged, nipples are hard, ready to go”, sounds like something someone would write as alternate lyrics to make fun of her shtick. Oh well, as a little tongue in cheek treat to the fans, this is a nice 2017 disco bop, but I’d say it is not strong enough to kick off this next era.

Update: For who thought Tove Lo could not take things even further in the video, wait until you see her get it on with… a puppet. Well, at least it is in line with the parody character of the song.
