Celine Cairo drops ‘Quicksand’ as next single
After years of hard work Celine Cairo finally dropped her long awaited debut studio album Free Fall last year. The Dutch singer-songwriter slowly, but steadily switched from an acoustic style towards a more electronic sound and did so convincingly. After singles ‘Hello Love’ and ‘Friendly Fire’ she now launches album closer ‘Quicksand’ as next single, but in a different version!

In the original album version of ‘Quicksand’, the verses are mostly based on a layer of acoustic guitar while the chorus has a deep beat to go with it. On the pimped up new single version, which is about half a minute longer as well, the guitars make place for more beats and a beautifully layered production of synths which smoothly lead into the soaring chorus. Celine’s vocals sound heavenly yet fragile when she sings: “‘Cause all we ever learned all we’ve ever known is how to hold on.” To celebrate the release of this new single, Celine Cairo and her band will go on another club tour in the Netherlands. You can catch them live on the following dates:

30th November: De Vorstin, Hilversum
8th December: Nieuwe Nor, Heerlen
21st December: Bitterzoet, Amsterdam
22nd December: Gebr. de Nobel, Leiden

UPDATE: Celine Cairo travelled to Iceland to record the stunning video for ‘Quicksand’. In a campervan, she drove around the island with her team, looking for the most stunning locations to film. The stunning result is her dancing around black beaches and other typical Icelandic landscapes. The music video is directed by Roland Pupupin.
