Single Review: Nadine Coyle – Go To Work

Nadine Coyle Go To Work

Nadine Coyle teams up with Xenomania for ‘Go To Work’
After British producers team Xenomania worked with former The Saturdays member Mollie King on her latest single ‘Hair Down’, released last week, they drop another throwback to the golden days of British girl bands. This time around they got together with Girls Aloud’s Nadine Coyle. The Irish singer dropped her solo debut Insatiable back in 2010, but things got rather quiet around her after that. Until today that is, because she is back with her swinging new single ‘Go To Work’!

Where Mollie King’s ‘Hair Down’ seemed to bring back the quirky pop Girls Aloud released about ten years ago, ‘Go To Work’ is more in line with the dance pop sound they produced around their comeback in 2012. This means Nadine’s comeback does not sound awfully contemporary, but we forgive her for that, because it is still a bop and a half! The production is on point and the build up to the chorus is everything a pop heart is craving for every once in a while. Nadine’s sassy delivery of the lyrics, asking for something more from her man, is the cherry on top here. It is hard to say if this single will make any impression in the charts these days, but I’m sure quite a few Girls Aloud fans will bop to this over the weekend!
