Always wondered what pop stars themselves listen to whenever they are not on stage or writing new music? It’s time to find out! Every week, A Bit of Pop Music will bring you Friday’s Five Tunes, a selection of five favourite songs by a current pop artist. This week it is Frida Sundemo’s turn to tell us all about the songs she loves the most!

It is a big week for Frida Sundemo. After years and years of hard work the Swedish artist finally drops her international debut album. The record is called Flashbacks & Futures and is electronic pop trip through time and space. Frida impressed us last year when her larger than life single ‘We Are Dreamers’ launched and moved us with the dramatic follow up ‘It’s OK’. The album is stunning from start to finish and is a must have for every lover electronic pop music, be it Kylie Minogue or Robyn. In the midst of the promotion of her record, Frida Sundemo found some time to briefly chat to us about her favourite songs!

Tom Waits – Take It With Me
“This song makes me wanna cry because it’s so beautiful. It works particularly well on rainy days.”

Well thanks for that, Frida, because there are a lot of these days coming up in the next season for sure!

Radiohead – No Surprises
“I’ve loved this song for many, many years and I will probably never get tired of it. Those chords and melodies! I never really listened to the lyrics until a few years ago. They are pretty sad actually! Truly a work of art.”

Lars Erik Larsson – Prelude from Disguised God
“For me this is one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard. I even did a synth cover of it a few years back as a prelude to my song ‘Snow’.”

Justin Bieber – Sorry
“I just love it so much. ‘Sorry’ is the perfect pop song! I wish I had written it.”

Doris Monteiro – Regra Três
“I listen to this at home almost everyday. It simply is the perfect soundtrack to my life.”

Thanks for that, Frida! Don’t forget to check out her stunning debut album and watch this space for a full album review!
