Maan shows growth on her best single so far
Most Dutchies are probably already familiar with Dutch pop star Maan. She won The Voice of Holland in 2016, recorded a handful of singles, had some hits and then participated in De Beste Zangers van Nederland, a show in which artists cover each other’s songs. Then she joined the show Dance Dance Dance, in which famous Dutch people have to imitate the choreography of famous music videos. Now that she has been on TV almost every weekend for a few months, it is time to launch another single! The new track is titled ‘Pockets Full of Change’ and marks a new direction for her.
Maan (Dutch for moon, and yes, that is her real name!) started out her career as a recording artist with mostly dance tunes, but is slowly but steadily moving away from that. Her latest single ‘Pockets Full Of Change’ might be a defining step in her sonic transformation, as it is the best thing she has recorded so far. Who doesn’t love a slow burning, slightly dark, subtly electronic pop song!? Her vocals are powerful and captivating here and the production by Tev Woods and David Taylor elevates it, creating that international sound Maan was looking for. Maan is starting to reach her full potential and that is exciting to watch!
