Craig David and Bastille work together on new single ‘I Know You’
Sometimes you hear about collaborations between artists that you would not have imagined recording together. This was the case for me with Craig David and Bastille. It was hard to picture what their collab would sound like, but I am happy to report the result does not disappoint. Craig David, who had massive hits in the early noughties with singles like ‘7 Days’ and ‘Walking Away’, successfully returned to the charts in 2016 with his house and dance inspired album Following My Intuition. Just a year later he is already on to the next one! On the 26th of January he will drop the album The Time Is Now and ‘I Know You’, the new single featuring Bastille, is out now!
After the Jonas Blue produced single ‘Heartline’ dropped in September, David moves on with a duet with Bastille’s Dan Smith. ‘I Know You’ is a proper pop tune with a big, memorable chorus. The production by Fraser T. Smith is very contemporary with a deep bass drop after the chorus. And who would have thought David’s and Smith’s vocals would blend so well together!? They performed the tune at BBC earlier this weekend and their chemistry was easily visible. The track is currently holding a spot in the top 10 on UK iTunes, so the signs for a hit are definitely there!
