Ed Sheeran teams up with Beyoncé for new version of Perfect
Ed Sheeran has been dominating the international charts all year, but he ain’t done yet! He recently launched the romantic ballad ‘Perfect’ as the fourth official single taken from his latest album ÷ (Divide). The track was already climbing the charts worldwide, but to have an even bigger shot at the Christmas number 1, Sheeran now launched a new version of the single featuring the one and only Beyoncé.

The once elusive Beyoncé has been collaborating quite a bit lately, most recently providing the chorus for Eminem’s coming back single ‘Walk On Water’. Now she teams up with Sheeran, on a song that certainly was not one of the highlights of the album. This is what I wrote about it when the album dropped: “Sheeran might be one of the most romantic songwriters of his time, but even he needs to watch himself not taking this too far into cheesy territory. … ‘Perfect’, which he himself describes as better than ‘Thinking Out Loud’, drowns in too many lyrical cliches to really convince.”

Oops! A more stripped back version or Beyoncé’s admittedly gorgeous vocals on this are not going to change any of that. Having said that, the track is absolutely perfect for a romantic winter night, so it will definitely continue the phase of Sheeran’s chart domination.
