Justin Timberlake launches third promo single for Man of the Woods
Justin Timberlake has been rather busy promoting the upcoming release of his fifth album Man of the Woods. After a mysterious introduction video with him promising to go back to his roots, he launched lead single ‘Filthy’, which sure did divide the opinions of fans. He followed this up with second single ‘Supplies’ last week and now it is already time for single number 3. Just one week before Man of the Woods finally drops, Justin Timberlake gives us ‘Say Something’, a collaboration with Chris Stapleton.
Fans worldwide were wondering how the first two singles related to Justin making an album for his family, returning to his roots, but I guess that his latest track will make things a bit more clear. No heavy beats and synths, but acoustic guitars dominate the sound of ‘Say Something’. It is a catchy little slice of guitar pop with a repetitive but infectious chorus. It is probably the melodically strongest tune we have heard from him so far this era, but at the same time he presents it with the least interesting video. Oh well, we can’t have it all, now can we? Although ‘Say Something’ is more radiofriendly than its two predecessors, I don’t expect it to be enough to turn the tide. He better prepare a damn good show at the Super Bowl that will convince everyone to buy the record!
