Anne-Marie teams up with Marshmello on new single FRIENDS
Producer and DJ Marshmello has been getting quite some big stars to feature on his singles recently. After ‘Silence’ with Khalid, he launched ‘Wolves’ with Selena Gomez. The track with Selena was described as ‘predictable’ and ‘not at the top of its genre’ on this blog before, but at the same time it became a big international hit. Now Marshmello has his next pop star lined up. His brand new single ‘FRIENDS’ is a collaboration with British hit sensation Anne-Marie.

Did you ever have a friend that suddenly told you he or she was in love with you and you did not feel the same way? Well, if so, Marshmello and Anne-Marie now have the perfect song to go with that feeling. Anne-Marie is on top of her game if she can belt out  feisty lyrics with some sass (like her best singles so far; ‘Alarm’ and ‘Ciao Adios’) and that is exactly what she does on ‘FRIENDS’. She will even spell the word out for you if you still didn’t get it. The infectious electronic pop tune sounds a little clunky in the verses at time, but other than that ticks all the boxes to become a hit. It at least has way more personality than ‘Wolves’. Although Anne-Marie is slowly becoming the queen of collaborations (she released tracks with Nick Jonas, Snakehips and of course ‘Rockabye’ with Clean Bandit), her two most recent solo singles did not make much of an impact. The good news is that ‘FRIENDS’ is a better track than both of those so let us hope she will have another hit!
