Single Review: Kygo & Miguel – Remind Me To Forget

Kygo repeats his tricks on new single with Miguel
Kygo had his big break back in 2014 when his single ‘Firestone’ became a huge hit. The tropical house sound of the Norwegian producer set a trend in the whole pop scene and it did not take him long to be able to work with some big stars. He released tunes with Selena Gomez, Ellie Goulding and OneRepublic which were all taken from his Kids In Love album that came out at the end of 2017. For a little re-release, he now drops a brand new tune, ‘Remind Me To Forget’, featuring R&B artist Miguel!

Miguel himself had a couple of busy months too! He dropped his fourth LP War & Leisure with hit single ‘Sky Walker’ and recorded the official soundtrack for Disney Pixar movie Coco, ‘Remember Me’, together with Natalia Lafourcade. The Kygo collaboration sounds exactly what you would expect it to sound like. The track starts with Miguel’s warm vocals over a minimal production and in the bridge towards the chorus Kygo uses the same vocal effects as he did on ‘It Ain’t Me’ with Selena Gomez. The piano heavy drop is typical for the hit producer as well and there are no surprises in the rest of the track. Having said all of that, he again managed to come up with something insanely catchy. I wrote here before that Kygo should shake up things more, but if the result is as hit worthy as ‘Remind Me To Forget’, then why bother? His tunes are irresistible and he knows it!
