Meg Myers wants to be taken to the disco on new single
Meg Myers is planning to release her sophomore album on the 20th of July. The American singer-songwriter returned earlier this year with the single ‘Numb’ after having released two EPs and her debut album Sorry before. The new record is titled Take Me To The Disco and over the weekend she dropped the track with the same name!
Compared to the loud, intense chorus of ‘Numb’, Myers strips things back on ‘Take Me To The Disco’. The result is a haunting ballad with a hypnotic chorus that makes you want the hit the repeat button over and over again. The easy to sing along to one sentence chorus works well as a contrast to the emotive lyrics in the verses and middle-eight. “Only the lonely could understand where I have been, always on a journey inside myself. Remember me and what I used to be, I don’t wanna be your enemy but I got to get away” she sings with her ever powerful vocal style. Don’t you just love it when a track offers you all the feels and a larger than life chorus!?
