Amy Shark continues promotion for debut album with second promo single
After the huge success in her home country of her single ‘Adore’ and the EP Night Thinker, Australian singer-songwriter Amy Shark announced that her debut album Love Monster will be out on July 13th. She dropped the powerful lead single ‘I Said Hi’ in April and now teases us with another promo single, titled ‘Don’t Turn Around’. We hear her signature sound that combines catchy guitar riffs with electronic pop elements and she builds it all up to a beautifully layered chorus. It is in the lyrics that Shark truly excels this time. ‘Don’t Turn Around’ is about cherishing a last bit of hope that a past relationship will be revived, because you might see the person again on different ocassions. She has this unique talent of putting her feelings into descriptive words which paint a vivid picture. “I love this time of year, the night lights up like the Fourth of July. Not quite America, but bright enough for me to see you in the crowd, small enough for me to watch you walk on by.” Her vocal delivery is outstanding, both on the fast paced and deeper bits. This sure is one of the best tracks she has put her name to!
