Lady Gaga and Chic drop studio version of ‘I Want Your Love’
After Lady Gaga already dropped the new single ‘Shallow’ today, taken from the A Star Is Born soundtrack, there is more new(ish) Gaga to enjoy! Back in 2016, she recorded a new version of Chic classic ‘I Want Your Love’ for a Tom Ford fashion campaign. A full studio version of her rendition was never released, until today! Chic and Nile Rodgers dropped their new record It’s About Time which features collaborations with contemporary artists like Mura Masa, LunchMoney Lewis, Hailee Steinfeld and the one and only Gaga!

The studio version of ‘I Want Your Love’ sounds very similar to the clip we heard in the Tom Ford commercial. The new version has an updated production with a contemporary feel, while respecting the swinging disco vibe of the original. Lady Gaga’s powerhouse vocals work well with the funky disco rhythms and she delivers the lyrics like a diva. As much as we all appreciate her recent country efforts, how awesome would a Lady Gaga disco album be!? While that idea sounds like a distant dream at this stage in her career, we are thankful to finally be able to bop away to a proper studio version of her flawless rendition of ‘I Want Your Love’. Definitely going to play this on my next pre-party before clubbing!
