Sam Smith and Normani team up for a sensual duet
Normani is slowly but steadily becoming the queen of collaborations. After her massive hit ‘Love Lies’ with Khalid, she recorded two tunes with producer and DJ Calvin Harris. More recently, the former Fifth Harmony star teamed up with rapper 6lack on the track ‘Waves’. Sam Smith has been pretty busy lately too. Also with Calvin Harris, he enjoyed success with the house inspired tune ‘Promises’. At the end of last year he dropped the track ‘Fire With Fire’, taken from the soundtrack of Watership Down. Now the two stars get together for the sultry duet ‘Dancing With A Stranger’.

‘Dancing With A Stranger’ is the perfect example of an understated bop. The track effortlessly mixes an R&B rhythm with a soulful vibe and a proper pop hook. Both acts deliver some of their finest vocals to date. Where Sam Smith sometimes goes overboard with the falsetto, he beautifully balances it out with some deeper tones here. Normani sounds as sultry and warm as ever and both voices beautifully melt together. ‘Dancing With A Stranger’ does not serve the type of hook that completely takes over your mind on first listen, but subtly creeps into your consciousness after a few spins. The both of them have enough star power to gain enough airplay to convince the general public of the catchiness of this tune!

Update: Sam Smith and Normani launched the video in which they both are alone in a room with people appearing and disappearing like memories in their mind. Normani steals the show with a fierce dance scene!
