Sigrid drops new track as release of debut album gets closer
On the 1st of March, Norwegian pop star Sigrid will finally drop her debut album. Title track ‘Sucker Punch’ (which made it into our top 50 of best tracks of 2018) was released in the last quarter of last year and she now follows up with the new single ‘Don’t Feel Like Crying’. Sigrid always manages to bring us the brightest and purest of pop! ‘Don’t Feel Like Crying’ is an uptempo electro pop track with more of a breezy vibe, in comparison to the more punchy ‘Sucker Punch’ that preceded it. The uplifting chorus could have easily been part of a new Carly Rae Jepsen record, which is never a bad thing of course. The spoken parts in the post-chorus however, are typical for the Norwegian pop star’s style. In the lyrics of the track, written by Sigrid herself with help of Emily Warren and Oscar Holter, Sigrid wants to be strong after a break up and decides she is not going to sit around at home, bawling her eyes out. She knows the heartbreak will hit her later, but she is going to stay in the moment. Relatable Queen!
