Saara Aalto releases new version of ‘Dance Like Nobody’s Watching’
Saara Aalto is working hard to keep a name for herself in the UK market. After finishing as a runner up during X Factor UK in 2016, the singer represented her home country Finland in Eurovision 2018 and dropped the flawless pop record Wild Wild Wonderland. She is currently participating in Dancing On Ice in the UK. After releasing her own version of Frozen‘s ‘Let It Go’ to which she skated as well, she now drops a new version of the ballad ‘Dance Like Nobody’s Watching’ specifically for the UK market.

‘Dance Like Nobody’s Watching’ was originally the only proper ballad on the Wild Wild Wonderland album, but Saara and her team decided to give it a little make-over to heighten the chances of it being played on the radio in the UK. They turned it into a light dance tune in which the chorus sounds slightly more uplifting. The middle-eight now features some new, more swinging vocals. Aalto explained on social media how the track is very close to heart and how she hopes it empowers people to be who they are meant to be. A beautiful ballad turned stylish dance tune with a powerful message!

Saara premiered the music video (with the original version of the song), starring her Dancing On Ice partner Hamish as ice dancing teacher. The video focuses on a young boy being introduced to the wonderful world of ice dancing and ballet, while realizing he would rather wear the girls’ outfits. He tries to hide this for his dad, but when he finds out they get into a fight, forcing the boy to run away. Saara and her team worked on the video with Mermaids, on organization offering family or individual support for gender diverse teenagers and children. The video is an emotional depiction of the daily struggle of gender diverse youngsters and is a great way to get such a story across to a larger audience! Well done Saara for using your voice for an important cause and effort to create awareness.
