Sophie Ellis-Bextor reimagines her classics with an orchestra
Sophie Ellis-Bextor is about to release a greatest hits compilation, but as these are not as necessary anymore in the age of streaming and making playlists, she does so with a little twist. Sophie does not just throw the original recordings together, but she actually re-recorded all of them with the help of a full orchestra! The full record will come on the 15th of March and is titled Song Diaries. Miss Ellis-Bextor already gave us her biggest hit ‘Murder On The Dancefloor’ to listen to in all its orchestral glory!
Sophie realizes that a lot of her fans are quite used to her disco inspired sound and she certainly did not forget about them. On the new EP she releases a disco orchestra version of both ‘Murder On The Dancefloor’ and ‘Take Me Home’, which have a similar pace and vibe to the original. Both tracks also have an orchestral version which is slower than the original, giving it a completely new sound. Sophie’s vocals are gorgeous on both in case you were wondering! She also added the cover of Carol Williams’ ‘Love Is You’, which was also sampled in her worldwide hit ‘Groovejet’ with Spiller. New Sophie Ellis-Bextor recordings are always exciting and her compositions are strong enough to captivate with or without a disco vibe!
