Yungblud teams up with Halsey and Travis Barker on new single
2018 was a busy year for Yungblud. The 20-years-old British musician launched a self-titled EP, followed by the full LP 21st Century Liability while also providing the track ‘Falling Skies’ for the 13 Reasons Why soundtrack. He kept things going at the start of this year by releasing the brand new track ‘Loner’. Next up is a high profile collaboration with singer-songwriter and pop star Halsey, who is currently enjoying the biggest solo success of her career so far with the single ‘Without Me’ (and also rumoured to be Yungblud’s girlfriend). They are joined by Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker. All ingredients for a hit single are there, right?
’11 Minutes’ is probably Yungblud’s most poppy work so far, as the track makes his more rock inspired sound melt with Halsey’s pop universum. The track is a proper love song about longing to be with someone after having to miss them all day. The track is driven by a laidback, but instantly catchy guitar riff that runs through both verses and the chorus, which at times gets company from rolling drums. The main hook is irresistible and should be able to help the song on its path to mainstream success. Just when you think the love duet comes to an end, the production turns into something completely stripped back, as Halsey once more repeats the chorus over just piano. She sounds gorgeous doing so! I would be surprised if this collaboration does not turn into a mainstream smash!
