Sara Bareilles announces album and drops new track ‘Fire’
After focusing on the musical Waitress for which she wrote the music, Sara Bareilles made a comeback as a pop star late last year. She released the brilliant feminist anthem ‘Armor’ and now announced that an album is coming as well. On the 5th of April she will launch Amidst The Chaos, her first studio LP since 2013’s The Blessed Unrest. To celebrate the album release, she shares another new track with us. The song is called ‘Fire’ and will be the opening tune of the upcoming album. It shows yet another side to Sara’s art. Where her songs are usually based on prominent piano sounds, this is actually a guitar driven track with little hints of folk. It is an understated little tune with ear catching drums and a soaring but subtle melody that takes a few spins to settle. Her vocals are stunning as always. ‘Fire’ is quintessentially Sara Bareilles, while she at the same time seems to be reinventing herself. I am pretty sure the rest of Amidst The Chaos will be ‘fire’ too.
