Ellie Goulding drops new soundtrack song ahead of proper comeback
Exciting things are happening in the career of British pop star Ellie Goulding. She released her most recent album Delirium back in 2015 and made a bit of a comeback at the end of last year when she dropped Diplo and Swae Lee collaboration ‘Close To Me’. It turns out this was not the official lead single of her upcoming fourth album. Next week, on the 1st of March, she will drop a new single titled ‘Flux’, which is said to be a ballad and the official first single. Before that however, we get even more new music! Today, Ellie’s track ‘Do You Remember’ appeared on the soundtrack for the movie Fighting With My Family.
Judging by the fact that ‘Do You Remember’ is not listed as a new release on Ellie’s Spotify page and that she has another song coming out next week, we can assume that this soundtrack single is not getting a proper push. This understandable considering that Goulding has spoken about going back to basics on her upcoming album, while ‘Do You Remember’ is an instantly catchy bop that could have been part of Delirium. Sure, it is a bit generic, but the chorus is definitely tailormade for radio. The lyrics are all about nostalgic flashbacks to a time of being together. This cute little bop will keep us occupied until Ellie comes back properly with ‘Flux’ next week!
