Freya Ridings releases music video with help of Game of Thrones stars
Freya Ridings is finally following up the huge success of her single ‘Lost Without You’. The heartbreaking ballad reached the top 10 in the UK charts last year, as well as gathering more than 100 million streams. She was named A Bit of Pop Music’s most promising artist for 2019 and started to fulfill this promise today. She has chosen ‘You Mean The World To Me’ as next single. The ballad appeared on her live albums before, but she re-recorded it with a production by Greg Kurstin (Sia, Adele). The music video was directed by Game of Thrones star Lena Headey, while her colleague Maisie Williams takes the leading role.

Like ‘Lost Without You’, Ridings wrote the track on her own in her room, thinking she might never share it with the rest of the world. The track is about the inability to show the people that are closest to you, how much you love them. It was inspired by a time that Freya’s mother was unwell. The new instrumental gives the track more body, but stays true to the stripped back and emotive core of the song. The video directed by Headey is a beautiful ode to family bonds. Maisie Williams manages to move us with her acting, while Freya performs the song in front of the camera. Both worlds in the music video are united when Williams ends up seeking comfort in Ridings’ arms. An endearing, moving video that elevates the already stunning composition! Freya Ridings has an exceptional talent for turning very personal emotions into universally relatable songs!
