Billie Eilish wishes the boy that turned her down is gay on new song
At the end of this month Billie Eilish is finally dropping her debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go. The 17-year-old pop star dropped her most recent single ‘Bury A Friend’ earlier this year and is ready to give us another taste of the album. Today she dropped the song ‘Wish You Were Gay’, a slow burning track that starts off with just guitar and Billie’s voice. We hear audience reactions to what she sings, until an electronic production kicks in for the chorus. Eilish explained the meaning behind the song on Instagram. She fell in love with a guy who did not have feelings for her and the easiest way to accept that, would be if he turned out to be gay. She would have rather been turned down because of the guy’s sexual orientation, than that it would have something to do with her personally. Good point Billie, good point! She wrote a flawless pop chorus about it, which she produced together with her brother Finneas. Her debut album is shaping up to be one of the defining pop releases of 2019.
